Fear And How to Deal With It

“One need not try to destroy one’s faults. Simply change focus,” says Mary Burmeister. [WMS, p. 15] When we fight something, it implies that it has power over us. And by struggling against it, or trying to destroy it, we give it strength and legitimacy to its existence. So, the most effective, and arguably the only way to deal with mental habits is to simply change focus. And by changing focus, I don’t mean to avoid or to deny, but rather to overlook those faults.

Here is what flows I have used to deal with fearful situations. Note the function and the meaning of the flows. The flows that come to mind first are usually the Safety Energy Lock 23, the index finger for harmonization of the 4th Depth, or the Reversing and Increasing of 4th Depth [T1, p. 65]. Yet, my flows were different and much more “sneaky.” Here is the list:

This is not to say that opening SEL 23 or holding the index finger are not effective flows for fear. It is just that I haven’t used them in that context myself. I have used them in different, just as disturbing situations and I loved the experience of them. But that is a totally separate topic…
