When we had a fire in our garage last month and had to run out of the house and leave everything behind in the middle of the night, I started having difficulties sleeping at night. We were all safe and unharmed, but I was shaken by the shock of the sudden and apparently total loss of our possessions.
During the day, I was able to keep it somewhat together by focussing on our immediate needs. As soon I went to bed, however, my stomach would begin churning. I had difficulty breathing, and anxiety overwhelmed me. And so, I settled on holding Safety Energy Lock 17.
I had heard so much about the relaxation effect of SEL 17 in my Jin Shin Jyutsu studies, but this was the first time I experienced that aspect of it first-hand. It also helped that it was easy to reach. I would hold my wrist while lying on my side in bed and waited for the relief to come. In about 10 minutes, my awareness disconnected from the anxiety-induced discomforts and drifted away off to more pleasant pastures. I could never remember how and exactly when that happened. Only that I would drift off to a mind space full of warmth, comfort, and peace, and I would not remember anything after that.
There is so much anguish in the world in general and in our lives specifically, right now. Holding Safety Energy Lock 17 can help us keep the peace inside and not succumb to the external madness. As my friend Marie reminded me, SEL 17 resonates with 8 (through the numeric reduction of 1+7=8), which is all about the miracles unfolding.
Safety Energy Lock 17 goes well beyond a simple relaxation of mind and body. It also connects us with the deepest parts of our psyche – where stillness, peace, and calm rule.
There is a silence into which the world can not intrude. There is an ancient peace you carry in your heart and have not lost.ACIM Wp1.164.4
