The primary intention of the Fifth Depth is to “rise into my spiritual inheritance.” It is about remembering who we truly are and fulfilling our genuine purpose. The organ functions associated with the Fifth Depth are the Heart and Small Intestine Function Energy.

The attitude that disrupts the harmony of the Fifth Depth is pretense—trying too hard. This often shows up as judging or being judged, comparing, competing, or labeling. We assume we can see a situation in its entirety and position ourselves as its judge. We compare people and circumstances, believing we should have done—or could do—better.

Disharmony in the Fifth Depth disturbs its function of building and maintaining strong, healthy bones. Its central project is the heart, and it always supports any heart-related issues.

The number 7 governs the Fifth Depth and holds the key to its harmony. Its gift is the realization that we need not struggle, strive, or suffer to reach perfection—we already are perfect.

To harmonize Fifth Depth:

  • Hold the Little Finger
  • Hold consecutively the Little Finger, then the Ring Finger
  • Reversing and Increasing of Fifth Depth: do the Reversing and Increasing of Fourth, Third, Second, and First Depth.

5th-Depth Safety Energy Locks

5th Depth contains SELs 24, 25, and 26.

SEL 24, “The Eye of the Storm.”

Keywords: The Eye of the Storm, Harmonizer of Chaos, Peacemaker

Location: On the outer top of the foot, close to the base of the fourth and fifth toes, opposite SEL 6.

Meaning and Function: According to Mary Burmeister [SH2, p. 59], SEL 24 “reigns in chaos” and brings peace to both mind and body. It helps us gain understanding while dissolving jealousy and stubbornness, earning its title as the Peacemaker among the Safety Energy Locks.

When the pulses feel chaotic, the SEL 24–26 sequence is used first to calm and harmonize them before applying any other sequences.

To Open

  • Hold Little Finger. It is 5th depth finger and it helps unlock SEL 24, as well.
  • Hold same side 26 and 15. Right Hand on L26 and left hand on L15 and vice versa
  • Give yourself a HUG (26’s)

Further Commentary

On both sides of the foot, we find SELs 6 and 24. Though both relate to balance, they express it in different ways. SEL 6 governs physical balance—imagine learning to ride a horse, trying to stay centered and not fall off. SEL 24, by contrast, represents spiritual balance—more like learning to drive a chariot pulled by eight horses. You must rein them in, guide them, and bring them into harmony. When separate forces pull in every direction, chaos arises. Thus, SEL 24 is known as the Harmonizer of Chaos.

SEL 24 symbolizes the state of balance that comes through Spirit. Only through connection with Spirit can we remain calm amid turbulence—becoming the still point, the quiet eye within the storm.

Notably, 24 reduces numerically to 6 (Balance) and also helps dissolve stubbornness [SH2, p. 59].

SEL 25, Be Still and Know

Keywords: Power of Regeneration. Quiet regeneration. The Lead General [SH2, p. 61]

Location: On the back of the body, at the sit bone.

Meaning and Function: SEL 25 energizes the mind while keeping us calm and alert. In situations where you must remain still for long periods, simply sitting on your hands (over SEL 25) can help counteract the effects of inactivity and the lack of movement.

To Open

  • Sit quietly on your hands [SH2, p. 61]
  • Hold the middle finger per the Hand Map.
  • Hold SEL 25 with SEL 3

Further Commentary

When I hold SEL 25, it’s usually together with SEL 12 as part of the Bladder Function Energy self-help sequence, or with SEL 23 as a self-help variation of the 23–25 adjustment sequence.

SEL 26, All That Was, Is, and Will Be

Keywords: All encompassing. Complete. The Director

Location: On the outside of the underarm.

Meaning and Function: Being “Total and Complete”, SEL 26 can harmonize mental, digestive, and physical functions. [SH2, p. 63].

To Open

  • Place your thumb over the ring and little finger nails. (The symbol for victory.)
  • SELs 26 and 15. Place the left hand on the right SEL 26 and the right hand on the right SEL 15. Reverse for the other side.
  • Hold the center of the palm, which corresponds to SEL 26 in the Hand Map.
  • Hold the thumb, index, middle, ring, and little finger one at a time. [SH2, p. 64]
  • 24-26 Adjustment Sequence [T1, p. 35]
  • 26 Adjustment Sequence [T1, p. 36]

Further Commentary

The self-help sequence for SEL 26 is to place one hand on the opposite underarm and form Mudra No. 6 with the other.

After my hand surgery, I could not move my fingers, so held the SEL 26 (underarm) only for the first week. Sleeping on my left side allowed me to rest my left hand on my right (surgery side) underarm for long periods. Once the cast was removed, I added the second part of the SEL 26 self-help.

A simple shortcut for keeping SEL 26 open is to place your thumb over the ring and little fingernails—forming the familiar “victory” sign. This hold is excellent during walking, jogging, or any cardio activity. The ring finger supports breathing, while the little finger harmonizes Fifth Depth, aiding the heart and cardiovascular system.

My late friend Marie-Reine was the first to show me the self-help sequence for SEL 26 and how effective it is during strenuous cardio activity. Since then, I’ve made it a habit to hold my fingers in the “victory” sign whenever I walk, jog, run, or do any kind of cardio exercise that allows free hands. This simple hold has taken me from being out of shape and unable to walk briskly without suffering heart palpitations to comfortably running a mile or more.
