Hello, subscriber!
The clock has struck, and a new year arrived. Despite the sense of newness, Mars and Mercury are both retrograde, so don't rush into doing things just yet. We still have some time to go with reflection and making plans for the year.

At the beginning of the year, I also love to look ahead and note the upcoming astrological transits. And this year, we'll have several planets changing signs - Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter. For a broader exploration of Saturn and Jupiter, join us for our upcoming Cycles Lab this Saturday, January 7, at 2:00 pm US EST.

To answer a question from a reader, I do not do the Moon-in-sign flows daily. We did that experiment over Christmas of 2021, and it was wonderful. But to do it all the time would be too much effort. My current daily practice is mostly mudras and holding fingers at night, with the occasional flow for daily aches and discomforts.

For a simpler approach to staying in harmony with the Moon and the Sun, consider the days of the Full and New Moon. The time of the New Moon is the natural beginning of the month. The two luminaries are in the same sign. The time of a Full Moon is slightly more challenging as the Moon and the Sun are in opposite energies. The challenge is to get the two diametrically opposite energies to complement rather than fight each other. The Houses where this opposition occurs will show which specific areas of life will be affected.

Next Full Moon happens on January 6 at 6:07 pm US EST. (Convert HERE for your local time.)

The Moon will be in its realm of Cancer, influencing us towards sensitivity and comfort. The Sun will be in austere and pragmatic emotions-averse Capricorn. Here is an example of how I work with this polarity.

In my chart, Cancer is high up in the 10th House - so I use it when I work with people at my workplace or practice, post on social media, or do anything else that is out there visible in the world. My natal chart shows that my most natural public persona is caring, comforting, sensitive, and nurturing.

On the other hand, Capricorn, in my 4th House of home and family, shows that I must be executive and pragmatic in my approach to family and home. Sounds backward? Apparently not in my life! :-) Things always run much more smoothly in the family when I play Capricorn rather than super-indulging Pisces, undecisive Libra, or over-sensitive Cancer.

Play with your chart to see where this Cancer - Capricorn balance plays out. Is it along the 1st - 7th House axis of self versus relationships? Or is it about the 6th - 12th House axis of paid service versus volunteering? Somewhere else?

JSJ Self-Help Recommendation

Virgo/Small Intestine Function Energy

This week, I offer Small Intestine FE as a self-help, especially around the days of the Full Moon - January 6 - 7.

Why Virgo? Virgo and Capricorn are both earth energies and understand each other very well. They build. In the words of JSJ, the Small Intestine and Umbilicus are finger/generation flows. Virgo crafts and organizes material resources, making it easier for executive Capricorn to use them to build on a grander scale.

At the same time, Virgo's craftiness and penchant for nourishment appeal to the nurturing nature of Cancer. Voila! We have a flow that works well with both Cancer and Capricorn.

    Right Side
Place your right hand on the Right SEL 11 and your left hand on the Left SEL 11.

Don't forget to do this flow on and around the Full Moon, January 6, to make the best of it. I am already putting a reminder on my calendar to do the Small Intestine flow.

    Best,
    Tatiana

    🌛 Moon Tracking

Next Full Moon is February 5 in Leo
If you have been working on a project, starting from scratch, and trying to bring it to fruition, it is time to let it rest for a while. Just as the dough needs some rest before you bake it into delicious bread, your projects also need some quiet time. Let Nature take its course. Wait for the next New Moon, for the next push in effort (or kneading of the dough, if you wish).

Next New Moon is Feb. 20 in Pisces
New Moon facilitates beginnings. They are a great time to get an idea or inspiration and start working on it. Pisces is kind, inclusive, healing, and spiritual. Look to the house in your chart to find where to apply all this wonderful energy.
